What is a window pane?
A window pane is any individual framed piece of glass. Each pane is counted separately, even if it is part of a larger window structure.
3 tips for counting your panes
Go outside. Getting an accurate count is best done while walking the perimeter of your home.
Choose a side of your home to start with, write down how many panes you see, then move to the next side.
Repeat the same process for your screens.

What's the total number of window panes?
How many of these panes are large picture windows or sliding glass doors?
How many of these panes are small french panes? (Ignore if muntin or grids are between glass)
