Does rain make my windows dirty?

Why is it that your windows can look perfectly clean - until it rains? Suddenly, your windows are spotted and streaked. Is the rain to blame? Not at all. Unlike water from a garden hose, which often contains minerals, rainwater is naturally soft and pure. There is nothing in it that can dirty your glass.

Dirt Makes Windows Dirty
The real culprit is a fine layer of dust and pollen that the wind deposits on your glass over time. This buildup is often barely noticeable in dry conditions, but a passing shower can turn it into streaks and muddy spots. In other words, rain isn't making your windows dirty - it's simply revealing the dirt that was already there. If your windows are clean, raindrops will dry clear, just like the purified water we use to clean your windows.
Timing Your Cleaning
Some put off scheduling window cleaning when rain is in the forecast, but we actually recommend getting them cleaned before the rain. That way, they look great throughout the wet season. In fact, having your exterior windows cleaned at least 2-3 times per year ensures they look good no matter what the weather brings.
